Title: Archos Gmini 400 20 GB
Post by: drdan on May 25, 2005, 11:18:08 PM
This little unit is looking appealing to me.

I would hope to use it to do live recordings of my band with my Audio Technica AT822 going directly into the Archos.

Right now I record with the AT822 directly into an early version sony mini disc.  I would want equal or greater sound quality out of any new equiptment I purchase.

I know that the Nomad Jukebox 3 is the golden standard now.  But I am worried that it is becoming an extinct model.  I also know that idealy I would have a mic pre-amp, but the AT is battery powered so I think the signal has some boost.  I will look in the owners manual to see if it is considered "line level".  I also know that the Archos does not have a digital line-in, only analog.

What do you think I could expect from AT822>Archos Gmini 400?

Anybody try this?  Advise?

Please excuse me if this is a dumb question.  I am a newbie.
