What do you consider affordable?  Sonosax already said they're shooting for an "under $8000" msrp.

isn't that for the 82 tho?  i don't really need 8 inputs.  i'm hoping the r2 is the affordable one.  and i'd say around $1000-$1500 would be affordable for what they're offering.

Quote
SONOSAX MINIR2  build in the same housing and based on the same technology as the MINIR82. This 2 tracks CompactFlash Card recorder is designed to offer journalists and reporters an affordable robust, compact and easy to use recorder thank's to its advanced Automatic Gain Controller. Numerous factory presets will help users to rapidly and easily sets the 2 microphone pre-amps according to microphone type and recording environnement.

they do say affordable in their description.  seriously, i'd say around the cost of the 722 would still be affordable, based on what this can do and what the mic preamps are like.

The MINIR2 should be available in august 2005 for ~ 2500 euros.
No idea of the MINIR82 price but it should be out in june 2005.

That sounds about right. A SX-M2 runs about $1000. I think this is what I'm gonna go after. At least I have time to save up for one!
I don't know just where I'm going
But I'm gonna try for the kingdom, if I can

I love the wristband.  Because you never know when you'll need it.

so if this thing is all in one...where do you plug the mics in? or will you need a XLR->1/4" converter?

I wonder if it'll use some type of break-out dongle or something.
