beautiful looking machines...

Seriously looking into losing my DAP1 & going w/the new SAX 2 channel, or the Marantz pmd 671 or the M-Audio in the fal.

Does anyone have an idea if any of them will be worth using their pre or would I be better off using an external (MP2, V2, Aerco, etc.) and just using the AD and CF recorder?

Thanks for the help.

Estimated delivery September 2005, price $6,000 USD.

And people thought I paid a hefty price for the Deva IV... 6K, only 2 analog inputs, no hard drive... thanks but no thanks. I don't think this is going to be the home run they are hoping for.

I read the $6000 as the 8 channel version...in the second paragraph down it says the 2 channel version, more details will be released in september

Yep, you're right. I missed that part. I saw the CF option, but somehow skipped right over the HD info.

I don't think that's right. It looks like they are all 8 channel devices (MINIR82), you just have the option of setting them up as 2 to 8 channel devices. However, this is really a marketing ploy because you're still limited to only two analog inputs. The rest of the channels come from the AES inputs, so you'll need a nice Cooper or Sonosax mixer (there's another 6-8K)....

or, you could run a bunch of V3s and Mini-Mes in front of it.  :P
