Hey all,
I use my vx pocket with my 24bit digital converter (ad2k+).
I know how to record a 24b digital signal from it.
Out of curiousity, what if i were to bypass the ad2k+ and go analog in (XLR) from my mp2 preamp to the vx pocket? With wavlab or whatever software set to record it in 24 bit 48khz.??
What would this do to the recording.? Would it really be 24bit?
There's no 'onboard processing' in the VX. How would this work?
Any input is appreciated...
Peace,
Ian Stone

i think it would still be 24bit. it's been a while since i sold my VX but if i remember correctly, adjusting the XLR in gain on the VXPocket was a HUGE pain in the ass.

It would record in 24/48 provided thats what you have the driver set at.
The pain in the ass XLR gain was the #1 reason why I got rid of my VX..

is the gain problem apparent in a s/pdf signal going into the vxpocket, i was thinking of getting one as i got rid of my ua-5, any thoughts?

just making sure as many people have said they dont like the vxpocket, thanks for clearing this up for me

the vxpocket rocks, it just has 2 downfalls. 1. no 24/96 and 2. the dongle can be a problem as far as the way it connects to the card, it isnt that secure, you can bump it with your hand easily.
