Title: Sennheiser ME104 (cardioid)
Post by: pillowman on July 08, 2022, 12:31:19 PM
aloa together !
those Sennheiser ME104 (cardioid)  are not seen very often out in the stealth taping world
but they were already mentioned in another topic. Does anyone can come up with some
details about those babies
I like to give them a try if they can handle enough high SPL during loud, amplified rock shows.
also for my interest is if they need an extra bbox to perform without distortion or if PIP will juiced them good enough.
what I really like is that the capsules can be switched from omnis > cardioids > supercardioid.
so if any good soul can jump on this topic with helpfull hints it would be jsut great,
CU !

They need 7.5 volts minimum per Sennheiser.

They can handle any stack tape with a 9 volt battery box.

I have never heard of these mics before, but here is the product page:
https://en-us.sennheiser.com/me-104 (https://en-us.sennheiser.com/me-104)

The specs do not look great for music recording, especially for caps that are $250 each. Low end frequency response only goes to 100 Hz; and they very high self-noise. Still, specs don't always tell you everything, and with loud amplified material the high noise might not be noticed.
