Church Audio CA-14 - removing "permanent" clips?
« on: March 25, 2022, 10:17:41 AM »
Hello, does anyone here know how the permanent clips are attached to the CA-14s? I'd like to remove them - I found they generally don't orient the microphones the way I'd like and prefer using this style: https://soundprofessionals.com/product/SP-CMC-25-CLIP/

I was able to cut off a good chunk of the clips and use a dremel to tame any sharp edges, but if it's easy enough to remove all of it without damaging the mics, will do so.

The clips are soldered on. So removing the clips with heat could potentially destroy the capsule.

Thanks, I'll make my ugly hack work.
