ISO Feedback:How to Improve my Recordings in Post?
« on: July 22, 2022, 12:33:49 PM »
I have a sample I was hoping a few people might listen to and give me some feedback about what to do in post to improve it.

Billy Strings with SCI at Red Rocks this last weekend, one song (Paranoid): https://drive.google.com/file/d/1JbU0Qar35NtuqF8QUY9_3USGyWDCHGIS/view?usp=sharing

Using Audacity.

Currently importing the file, boosting and centering as needed, track it, add fade in and out when possible > ship it.

Thinking about rolling off some bass but Im not sure if it's my sub-par playback at the moment or if it really needs it.

Suggestions appreciated.

Recording is, AKG391>BMP+UA5>M10 from the center of the section.

Thanks

I would probably pull down some low mids to remove some of the mud and maybe do a low gain shelf to brighten it up in general. Could probably use a bit more gain too
