just curious as to what is the best soundcard for this. what have you all used? is the e|magic card where it's at?  any firewire cards?

the cheapest options are going to be the Emagic and M-Audio lines.
you have the 828mkii....if power is not a issue, you can go that way as well

thanks luvean +t  that's what I figured.  I really would like to avoid bringing the 828mkii out just for two channel hobby taping but it would be possible for one of the venues i tape in for matrixes.
