ssia. Wondering if a pair of stewarts or other phantom only will give the 4022's enough juice to run 4022>phantom>m1, with decent levels line in to the m1....or do I need something like a Zefiro? Looking to pick up something cheap for the few true stealth I do, like Dylan. Thanks, Marc.

Dunno, but you can always toss in a couple line transformers for ~20dB gain if you think you're gonna be too low. Small, inexpensive, clean. Great option, IMO.

that's what I thought. Honestly, a used mp-2 probably wouldn't run that much more than phantom and transformers, and would be cleaner most likely,,,,and not much bigger if at all. Thanks, Marc.

I actually like the 4022 MP-2 tapes I have heard that Scott has done...of course I am one of those guys who actually likes the sound of the MP-2, so take that for what it is worth.

a cheap option would be a Beyer MV-100 - can be had for $175 - $200 - has 20/40/60 dB, runs off 2x 9V batts for 8-9 hours, and is housed in the same plastic casing as the sax.
