i found out the best way to temporarily disable the worm is to do the following.
1. boot into safe mode, press ctrl+alt+delete and end the "avserve2.exe" process.
2.  go into c:/windows and find the "avserve2.exe" file and delete it.
3.  goto start > run > msconfig.  goto the startup tab and uncheck the "avserve2" box.

this is only a temporary solution.  it disables the worm from running so you can hopefully boot normally and then get mcafee stinger or norton or the windows update fix to zap the worm completely.  also check the registry afterwards to make sure it is gone.

Nice one, considering OS10 is *nix based.   :P

BSD, if you want to get into technicalities.... ;)
Governor Jim McGreevey was equally disturbed about the upcoming population increase. "New Jersey cannot support all of these wookies," he said. "For starters, we don't have nearly enough kindbud. At best, we can muster up a Q.P. of some beasties, but we've not a dime-bag more."
