I was wondering if the 410 can do a board/mic matrix like the UA5 can? I couldn't see if it did.

In the same way the UA-5 does?  No.  But if you run an external A/D you can record from the soundboard on analog channels and the mics on the digital channels.  I actually just did this tonight, worked great.

You of course have to mix it yourself.

im planning on doing the opposite of what john kelley did, il be using the 410 for my mics and taking a sbd signal and running it through an a/d to the digi in. and at big shows im gonna take a digi patch from someone and go home with 2 sources!

when using the 410, you can only use one set of analog inputs....

it can, and the good thing is that unlike the ua-5, you will get a 4-channel recording not a 2-channel recording like with the ua-5.  you have to mix with that shitty knob on the back of the ua-5 which is weak

but the kicker is: you can only take one analog source at once... one must be digital to do 4 track recordings... im almost positive

via firewire to a pc... just need a multi track program and you can handle the rest through the 410 mixer on your pc

yeah it is, when i multitrack i plan to just borrow an a/d to use for sbd matrixes.. or for a show with other tapers im gonna take a digi signal from someone else and go home with 2 sources :)
