How can I upload to show on to my PC and start spliting the tracks and whatnot?
-
Drag and drop the file to the "My PC Music Library/Recordings"
Then go to your "my documents" folder on your pc, click "My Music/Recordings" folder.
-
but how do I transfer the music from JB3>PC...When I plug it in via USB, my computer does not recognize the jb3

Here is a great site for questions regarding the Nomad.
http://www.nomadness.net/

For the JB3 you have to either install the software that came with the JB3 or buy a 3rd party program called Notmad. I wold suggest Notmad.
-
You can also get Creative MediaSource:
http://www.soundblaster.com/mediasource/
I used the older one. This version will probably seems like it would work the JB3.
-
where can I buy it? I clicked the link, and I can't find anywhere to purchase

Not sure if you can (looks like it comes with the cds). I couldn't find anywhere to download it. You may try one of these programs from this link:

Notman (mentioned earlier) trial is on the second page if you want to try that. Haven't used it myself, but I am sure it will good for you. Hope that helps.

It's still up on the creative site, but the product is marked end of life.

I'd get it while you can and make a back up just in case creative takes it down at some point.

I don't get it...I've tried downloading every program...but it says that it cannot set-up on my computer

Download Nomad Explorer, it's at the very bottom of the page. That's the program I use.

Some XP installs wont let you add software unless you are logged in on the Admin account...?

Download nomad explorer.
I access my JB3, turned on through My Computer using Nomad Explorer. It only shows up when the JB3 is plugged in and on and connected to my computer. Drag and the files from the JB3 to wherever you want them.
Never had any problems.

First off, is there a difference between notmad explorer and nomad explorer?
-
notmad is made by a seperate software company and it's IMHO that it works better
worth the $$

Totally unnecessary IMO. There simply preying on the uneducated pc user.
First read how to install and then make sure to install the driver’s correctly and there should be no problems.
I have connected the jb3 to 4 different pc’s including a dell lappy (Using both Firewire and USB) and never had a problem with either creative media center or explorer.
I find 99.9% of the time its simple user error when folks cant get the Jb3 to connect.
-
yeah an error message comes up and it says the unit is not properly installed...I bought the jb3 used and have no software, do you know where I can buy it?
-
notmad runs more stable for me, a lot of other people too (notmad was sugested to me from users of this site)
i'm not a big computer guy so maybe you thoughts are true, but it seem like he's not a big computer guy either (he's asking how-to) so I figured i would post what works easy for me since he asked :P
