Title: stupid question
Post by: BJ on April 02, 2004, 10:34:12 PM
I never really thought of it before, just set up and went...

when you run different configurations, do you change which mic(physically) is running into the left and which to the right?  i.e

XY..left(physical) mic is pointing to right side...is this the left mic or right mic in teh UA5?

DIN  left (physical) mic is pointing left side...so this is the left mic in the UA5?

would you ever change the cords to NOT be the same as the physical mic?

thanx

In XY, since the left mic is recording the "right" audio, it's the "right" mic.  So you assign them to the way they're pointing...

At least, that's how I've always been taught.

Yes - whichever side the mic is pointing at is the channel, regardless of config... Mic points at the right stack, its the right channel.
