nice i like it
but no jitter measurements
my rule is no jitter measurements
no buy

specs are very important
its a usb device
jitter is a big area to not address

or its there and i missed it
its the main spec i address for usb audio devices

i would love to try this out though
looks and size are awsome

i will investigate further

Panic goes on hiatus and then you get a 788?? You need to work on your timing Bennett! :P

Congrats!! Starting to see as many 788's in the CO Crew's gearbags as Grace pres -- scary.

Thanks for the heads up on the RME.  I doubt I'm interested in 6-8ch, and a DR680 is cheaper and a lot easier than the RME + ipad + external preamps.  Still, RME makes really nice gear, and if you already own an ipad and external preamps, this might make for an interesting option.
Mics: Microtech Gefell m20/m21 (nbob/pfa actives), Line Audio CM3, Church CA-11 cards
Preamp:  none <sniff>
Recorders:  Sound Devices MixPre-6, Sony PCM-M10, Zoom H4nPro

Cool idea, but think about the connections...
- 2 mic inputs on the front
- 2 line inputs on the front
- 4 line inputs on the back
- SPDIF input on the back = 2 channels (from a V3 for instance)
- ADAT input on the back = 8 channels  (from an 8 channel ADAT pre, which are almost all rack mounted and AC powered)
------------------------------------------------
total of 18 in, and 18 out = 36 channels

That's an absolute maze of wiring and not nearly as cute as the original vision one might have of this box > iPad.  it's realistically portable skipping the ADAT pre, with 10 channels from this box/V3 > iPad, or 8 channels without the V3 and this box > iPad.

The ideal customer is some gadget head who wants the ability to say "look what I can do with my iPad!!"  I'm sure there are a few of them....
Mics: Schoeps MK4 & CMC5's / Gefell M200's & M210's / ADK-TL / DPA4061's
Pres: V3 / ST9100
Decks: Oade Concert Mod R4Pro / R09 / R05
Photo: Nikon D700's, 2.8 Zooms, and Zeiss primes
Playback: Raspberry Pi > Modi2 Uber > Magni2 > HD650

Only a 10 month Hiatus.  ;D

You would think they would give Phantom to at least 2 channels, but it doesn't look like it.

If it's anything like the FF400 there will be switchable phantom power on thr front XLRs.
