Topic: DR-40 Question

Hi all,

Been trawling the web for an answer, but just can't seem to find it.

With the new firmware update that gives independent L/R volume control, will I be able to us the DR40 for recording a drumkit, like this:

Onboard mics - drum 'overheads' (stereo pair)
Ext In #1 - Dynamic mic on kick drum (with gain set accordingly)
Ext In #2 - Dynamic mic on snare drum (with gain set accordingly)

That's pretty much it! Just want to know if i can do this! I presume if I can, it's then very easy to import the 4 tracks via USB into Cubase and do my thang with them.

Yes, you can do that, set your levels fairly conservatively, and tweak them in Cubase.

Remember, it records two stereo tracks and not four independant mono tracks, so you'll have to split them into 4 mono tracks in your DAW.
