PMD670 won't record in wav (Problem solved)
« on: March 31, 2013, 02:02:41 AM »
When I hit the record button it goes into record standby and freezes. The only way to even turn it off is to pull the batteries but the same thing happens again. It is fine in MP2 or MP3 but wav will not work.

I would like to add D&M Professionals are great to deal with. First rate customer service. I shipped it out on Tuesday and had it back Saturday.

Try restoring it back to factory settings?

Slow card maybe with fragmented file system?

Try to format it again. Or try another card, maybe different brand.

I talked to a tech. He said the firmware needs updated to run anything more than a 1 gig CF card. He also said kingston doesn't play well with the deck. Only bummer is I had to send it to them for the firmware update. I mistakenly recorded a band in mpeg Friday and to be honest it doesn't sound that bad. Can't wait to get it working properly. Bean I knew you had problems running it digi. I didn't ask questions. Anyway hopefully the firmware upgrade takes care of the problem and all I'm out is the postage and possibly a new cf card.

I had to get a different CF card as well. For some reason they do not work well with Kingston. All together I spent around $30.  ;D
