I admit, there are good and bad points to the touchscreens. Id have to play with one to see if my recording environment would be helped or hindered by it....

9 out of 10 people still prefer switches to fumbling through menus. its a very niche machine that many will pass over.

yeah- I've got a few reservations about touchscreens; being a location recorder, you've got to wonder how resistant to a few raindrops the functionality would be.

But then, I've got reservations about Lemo connectors too!

I've got a brand new Motorola as a work phone and the even the hint of moisture (let alone a raindrop) on the operating surface renders it totally inoperable. UNLIKE my personal 3 year old iPhone which does very well. You can't knock the use of screens for metering though; those bars are so fast and easy to see.
