Well the firewall is off by default.  But if you've turned it on and need to turn it off again, it's in the System Preferences app, under the "Sharing" pane, and the firewall tab.

Thats what I thought too, but when I was on bt.etree.org, the tracker indicated that i was behind a firewall.  I can get good d/l speeds so I never thought I was behind one, and my sharing pref indicates that I am not, so any ideas on why it might show up that I am behind one . . .

Well then your problem isn't the software firewall.  Do you have a router?

Yeah, sounds like you're behind a hardware firewall.  But if you're not having any connection problems, I wouldn't even worry about it.

I'd worry about it unless he's always maxing out his download pipe.

I'm using an airport card through an apple airport station which is hooked up to my cable modem . . . Does that help at all??

my u/l speeds max ~28-30k

Could this be a case of Comcast limiting my pipe?

The ABS is a hardware firewall.  You can set it to forward ports on the router to your computer, but if you're happy with your download speeds I wouldn't even mess with it.
