Harmon/Kardon AVR 225 developed buzzz? i think
« on: November 05, 2009, 08:13:12 PM »
Now its been awhile and i thought it was my Sony sub doing something but it has this like static sound that gets worse when idling. when music is playing it covers it up to a degree but when its just on it makes this static buzz sound? anyone else with this problem? is it the receiver or a bad cable? where should i start to trouble shoot this. thanks

start by throwing on a groundlift adapter

if that doesn't work then start working your way through the list
1. have you hooked up anything new recently? Unplug it and move it to a different plug
2. have you moved any of your components? move them back
3. unplug your sub
4. move your tv and cable box to a different set of outlets or at least a separate power strip
I’ve had a few weird experiences and a few close brushes with total weirdness of one sort or another, but nothing that’s really freaked me out or made me feel too awful about it. - Jerry Garcia
