Title: UA-5/TRS Question
Post by: jpschust on March 17, 2004, 03:31:37 PM
Somone told me that the ua-5's trs in's were wired backwards, however I always thought typical wiring for TRS is:

Tip: +
Ring: -
Sleeve: Ground

That is what it says on the ua-5 as well... so am i missing something somewhere

It's opposite as it should be if your building a battery pack. Using the radio shack parts that is. As described in Shapiro's explanation.

if the trs'es were wired incorrectly then nobody could use their standard 1/4" cables.... not likely IMO.

understandable. that someone was probably getting the 1/4" confused with the power supply.
