Title: AT943 cardioid caps, or 853 with adapter? Also sub-card question.
Post by: (Evan) on February 11, 2009, 04:55:17 PM: So I need to buy some cardioid caps for my 943 bodies. Would you guys recommend going with the 943 caps, or using the 853's with an adapter? I've read a few posts saying that the 943's are inferior to the 843's.

Also...how are the 843 sub-cardioid caps?

853 Only because them seem to handle more SPL then the 943 for some reason the 943 Seems to bottom out with low frequency much easier then the 853 I suspect the diaphragm to back plate distance on the 943 Is the issue. So that's my two cents.

SC are only available for the 853s i'm pretty sure, but no longer made.

The off-axis responce on the sub-card is strange to say the least. Fortunatly AT improved the off-axis responce on the Uni-Line upgade, but unfortunatly discontinued the sub-card....

Soundpros does give us a 10% discount though being members of TS. Better than nothing.
