« on: March 19, 2005, 08:34:20 PM »
i was trolling for a new car stereo, and looking for something with a front panel auxilary input for the jb3, dat, etc when i came across this relatively cheap in dash dvd player on crutchfield. i thought i would share what i found.

http://www.crutchfield.com/S-sKczTY1MrE2/cgi-bin/ProdView.asp?g=168450&id=essential_info&i=257KDDV510

cost is $299. no video screen. you add an aftermarket screen. has optical out.

there is a review that says it is nice for dvd-audio.

i'm not up to date on al the dvd/24bit requirements though

A live concert to me is exciting because of all the electricity that is generated in the crowd and on stage. It's my favorite part of the business, live concerts.

Will have to go try one of these.  It would be a good idea to see how it handles playing entire discs.

If you don't want to play dvds and just want want the front input jack I recommend this:

I have this unit in my truck and it's great....I've had it for a year with no trouble.   The front input was a GREAT thing to have after shows! ;D

Here's another option too. If your deck has a connector on the back for xm or a cd changer, etc. you can buy a m-bus(for my model)>rca cable for $15-$20 and just plug it into the back of the deck. I run my d8 with a mini> rca after shows and it works great. I especially like the fact that I only had to spend a few bucks and was able to keep the Alpine.
