Title: Playing FLACs on a Sony MP3 player, or possibly another affordable new portable?
Post by: Denes on June 30, 2012, 09:44:39 PM
I got a 4 yr old sony 4gb MP3 player and a 2yr old NWZ-354 sony 8gb MP3 player.  IS there a firmware upgrade to make them play FLAC's.   I usually preview my recording before publishing while driving.  Lugging a laptop around can be real cumbersome.

This.

The Sansa is great...plus Newegg.com frequently has them for very cheap ($20-$30) as factory recertified/refurbished. Toss in a 32gb micro-sdhc for another $15-$20 and you're very much in business. The Sansa's firmware sucks...they love to be Rockboxed and will thank you for it...
