I use the Shure A27M and two Shure A53M mounts.  I got the A27M out of the yard sale.  They are both rugged and work.  The Schoeps mounting brackets are flimsy.  I am not sure why you do not want to screw the Mk4's onto the CMC6's.  It is an option.

a lot of tapers prefer the ease of setup and small footprint of an active cable setup. it's really nice when you are clamping to a stand with 4-5 other sets of mics on it.
