the minimum you can use for DVD is 16/48.   There is no way to make 16/44.1 work afaik...

Easily done.  Select the region you want to output.  Mute everything but the audio track.  Render as 16/48 WAV.  Now mute audio and un-mute video track.  Render video track as MPEG-2 or DV-AVI and convert to MPEG-2 with external encoder.  I encode with TMPGEnc myself but it's perfectly acceptable to render straight to MPEG-2 from Vegas.  Now open your DVD authoring program and import the separate video and audio streams.  There you have it.  Just remember to account for the bitrate of the audio when calculating the bitrate of your video.  I think the maximum allowable to keep a DVD in standard is 10MBps for the whole shebang.  So if you have audio that is 1546 (I think that's the number?)  you shouldn't encode your video higher than 8MBps to stay safe.

I use this bitrate calculator:

Have you been using Vegas long?  There are so many tricks and tips that every time you do a project there's something new to learn.  If you plan on doing any multi cam edits Vegas 8 will save you tons of time.  As you've also learned, syncing up different sources is easy too.

So if you have audio that is 1546 (I think that's the number?)
Minor correction ~ 1536
