Maybe I'm not the first to realize this, but had an epiphany last week about a kludge-clamp of last resort:
https://www.amazon.com/etc

Work great for uneven, unusual, oddly shapped surfaces. And...

Coban is great for use as a temporary adhesive -- It only sticks to itself. However, it's designed to be not very strong (otherwise its would a bitch to unwrap wounds) but will keep cables together and also keep them from wandering away from a mic stand. I used to use it almost everyday at work and I'm not sure I would trust it for anything heavy.

Not taping related but ...

Trying to make my workspace more efficient (i.e.. more desk space)

I recently received a new laptop with this port replicator:
https://www.amazon.com/Dell-WD22TB4-Thunderbolt-Dock-USB/dp/B0B13Y2QVW/ref=asc_df_B0B13Y2QVW/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=598342985165&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=8873518197688854314&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=c&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9001969&hvtargid=pla-1664384328217&psc=1

And was considering this clamp:
https://www.amazon.com/SHAWE-Phone-Holder-Gooseneck-Mount/dp/B083BRX7D6/ref=sr_1_6?keywords=clamp%2Band%2Bbendable%2Barticulating%2Barm&qid=1681140192&sr=8-6&th=1

The  opening on the "phone end" is just too small for the port replicator.
I would be clamping to the leg of the desk and having the replicator at desk level but not on the desk itself
Desk is the basic Ikea glass desk with sawhorse- style legs

Can anyone recommend a clamp that would accomplish the same goal?

Thanks!

Big fan of thunderbolt docks myself.
How about a heavy-duty velcro strap? Or even the adhesive velcro?

Considered that, but felt an adjustable clamp gave me more options.

What if you velcro it to the adjustable clamp?!

Another one for the clampaholics

In an effort to WFH more outside this year, I bought this mini-umbrella for glare:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0853WQR8P?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details&th=1

Don't really like the clamp and the arm is definitely too short.

So I'll need an an extending arm to clamp to a deck rail and then clamp to the umbrella's arm

The Atom Clamp works well for the deck railing and for the umbrella arm.

Looking for something similar to this that will allow me to use the Atom Clamp on either end:

Any suggestions?

my trusty $30 Windtech C-clamp finally gave out after 18 years of service  :clapping: one of the best value gear purchases I have made

of course i didn't realize the threads were toast until i was at a show  but, thankfully there was another taper there who had an extra in their bag so all was well. ordered a new one at set break

Looking for best options to clamp an umbrella to a stand ideally a full size umbrella not a mini one.

Get two of these and screw them together https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XKVNJWG/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 one clamp on the umbrella and the other on the stand. The ball head will let you adjust the angle if needed.

I used a full sized umbrella one time - the wind kept knocking my stand over. Bring a tent stake and drive it into the ground holding your stand in place or a couple ziplock bags you can fill with gravel and use as a weight on the legs.

This seems like the best place to ask...

i have a manfretto stand. I would like my Mixpre3 and ZoomF3 mounted to this stand at around eye level. Rather not have them lying on the ground and / or have the need for very long cables. what mount should i look at?

I really like the CAMVATE 11 inch Adjustable Articulating Friction Magic Arm for this purpose. Pic from Red Rocks attached.

Grey hanging bag for Anker 10k battery.

Great all purpose problem solver to carry in your kit too.

After how happy I've been with my 9.solutions savior clamp, I was browsing their site the other day and was gobsmacked by the amount of innovative stuff they make.
https://www.9.solutions/products-2/

The way they overbuilt the savior clamp, I can only imagine the rest of their gear is as high-quality.  While it may not be the lightest to carry, I can definitely envision some endgame solutions here for those with fairly static rigs.

Had a mini-savior and that is a nice clamp.  Just found a great deal on Ebay on the full size version and holy smoke is it a chunk of metal.  That thing is solid, not some flimsy Amazon POS.
