Good AA Batteries
« on: February 01, 2004, 03:12:51 PM »
I thought I would pass this along...since I know we all use tons of AA batteries around here.

I have been using the Energizer AA Nickel Halide 2100 mAh ones for some time now and they are great.   I ran the same 4 batteries for 2 shows, about 5.5 hours (3 hours with the light on) and they still had 2 bars left on my D8.     They take a while to charge up...maybe 12 hours, but it beats the hell out of using disposable ones.   I think it came to about $25 for batteries and a charger.

Hope this helps

I use these too BUT, one problem...I've had 2 of the "30 minute charge" units break on me within 6 months(one stopped working within a few days)...the batteries can't be beat...but the chargers have let me down at some clutch times....

I agree....the chargers are kind of flimsy.  I broke the clear cover of the battery holder about 2 days after I got it. Not that you really need it, but it looks cool.    For a long time I had a much sturdier charger (forget who it was made by) where the batteries sit one in front of the other vs. beside each other...and it was MUCH more durable.
