just curious,   do these wifi boosters work like rf boosters and raise the noise along w/ everything else?

well yes and no.  yes they do raise noise when "cranked" but mine is a fairly mild increase in strength.  My house is 2600 sq. ft. with my router on one side of the house and with the icrease I can get ALL of my devices to connect on the far side of the house.  With the stock Linksys firmware most of my devices did not even see my router.

So the no is that unless you are broadcating to your whole  neighborhood then you shouldn't have to increase the signal so far as to introduce any noise..
