Well...I can put the show up...go through put in track marks...then when I make a basic audio cd...go to the CD menu and go to write cd....the screen pops up but under device it says: no device...I have nothing to choose from. I have trouble shot the burner and it works fine. ican even burn with my windows media player burner but not wavelab or nero. Thanks :-\

hmm.....check in device manager and make sure it is listed - start > settings > control panel > system > hardware > device manager, see if it is listed there and if it has any red x or yellow ! or ? on it..if it does there's a problem recognizing the drive or it has a problem working correctly...if not, try finding the driver for your drive on the manufacturer's website.  although if this is winxp it may not need a specific driver, perhaps even in win2k.
the easiest thing to do )and perhaps most effective) is uninstall that device in device manager, then reboot and it should reinstall itself.  probably without any user intervention also.  then check in nero and wavelab.
questions...what OS?  what kind of burner?  it used to work before, right?
have you installed any hardware/software recently or since the last time you used it?

Well I havn't changed anything since it last worked. So I should uninstal my burner and then reboot?

Also I did not buy this wavelab...if you know what I'm saying so i'm not sure if that has any bearing on the matter.

How do I uninstal the burner?

Thanks alot....I appreciate the help.

go into device manager, right click on the burner, and choose uninstall.  then reboot.

if uninstalling and reinstalling the burner didn't work, you might wanna search for the disc that came with the burner and try to reinstall the drivers.  also, you might wanna search windows update for updates for the burners firmware.  You might also want to try uninstalling the drive, pulling it out and putting in another cd rom drive and see if that one is recognized.  If its not recognized the problem might be bigger than just your burner.  If it is found, pull it out and put in the burner again.  Switching the drives like that might help something out in bios.

if nothing seems to work, call the tech support for the burner and complain a lot.  My old burner stopped working and i just complained a lot and they ended up sending me a new burner.
