How do I join .wav files?
« on: November 19, 2003, 10:34:03 AM »
I'm fairly new to SoundForge, and I'm wondering if there is a way to join a bunch of .wav files.

I want to retrack a show that has already been cut up into separate tracks. How do I make all those tracks into one big .wav file so I can recut it in CDWave?

Thanks.

Not sure if SoundForge will join the WAVs seamlessly.  I know SHNTool and WavMerge do.

P.S.  You didn't save your master transfer WAV?!?   :P

Thanks, Brian. I've got SHNtool, so I'll see if I can do it with that.

It's not my master. Just a show I received that is tracked very, very poorly.

Can probably find it with a google search.

you could always do a real crappy job with the super-simple, mega-reliable, ultra-hi-tech windows recorder...

Why don't you just open the first track in wavelab. then open up the others and select all, then paste to the end of the previous track. shntool to verify or fix sector boundaries

in wavelab, there is an option that will open the file and automatically append it to the open file...file>insert audio file>at end of file.

something like that.  works great.

doesn't get much easier than 'shntool join *.wav'
