Topic: Multiple L/R channel stereo playback?

Most receivers (amps) have two zones for two-channel stereo playback.  You can run a second pair of speakers through the Zone 2, B, or whatever channels to have two left speakers and two right speakers.

Anyone know of a way to amplify a third or fourth set of speakers in there?  make sense?

I have heard that when you hook up these "B" speakers you loose the ability to do 5.1
you can do it might like or hate it
try it and tell us what you think

Yeah, I don't have a M-CH setup, so the loss of 5.1 hasn't been a factor for me.

Right now I've been comparing the setup of two left bookshelf speakers and two right bookshelf speakers to your standard 2-CH left/right setup.  The motivation to do this is due to the room...not the benefit of multiple bookshelves over floorstanders.

Wasn't sure if there's a way to logically add in (amplify) a few more bookshelf speakers on each side.  I guess we're thinking "wall of sound".

Maybe a more accurate way of putting this is...  is there a way to play 4 two-channel zones simultaneously?

Any run-of-the-mill receiver is going to have 2 two-channel zones that will play at the same time.  Looking to throw in a couple more.
