New Toys (Singlepower MPX3 Content)
« on: December 14, 2005, 12:48:08 AM »
I guess it isn't exactly a new but my MPX3 has been at Singlepower getting modified fo a month so I'm calling it a new toy.

It's so nice to be able to listen to my headphones out of something other than an Ipod. :)

+T for toys.  What was the mod you had done?
Tickets are dead to me.  Except the ones I have, don't have, and lost.  Not to mention the ones you have, don't have, and lost.   And the ones that other dude has, doesn't have, and lost.  Let me know if you need some tickets, I'm happy to oblige.

I had the power supply capacitors upgraded to with Solens, replaced the stock cathode capacitors with Blackgates and got two adapters made which allow me to run 5687 tubes instead of the standard 6SN7s.  The 5687 tubes have greater extension and they definately have greater impact than the 6SN7s, the only tradeoff is that they have a smaller sound stage.
