Title: AR The turntable Complete new thread
Post by: raymonda on December 24, 2015, 09:29:48 PM
My new mat came in today, so along with all the other mods the projects now looks to be complete. I listening to Dire Straits, "On Every Street" and man does this table sound great. And now that I getting a bit more time on the Sumiko Blue Point #2 I can say that this is a great cartridge and another great value! I'm not sure yet if I like it better than the Denon 301 mk2 but I like it just as much......and reports say it gets better after 50 hrs.

So, here is a list of the over all mods that were done:

GEM Dandy Motor upgrade
GEM poly pully
Tonearm to RCA cable
RCA out on back of the table
Dynamat on internal parts
Acrylic Tonearm board 1/2"
Acrylic bottom 1/2"
Isolation Spikes
Tonearm shrink tubed damped
Internal platter buffed and polished and damped
Outer platter polished
Multiple applications of tung oil
Over 20 coats of paste wax, hand buffed.
Custom mat "shelf liner and carbon fiber".

Final shots attached.
