I'm wanting to transfer some of my old DAT tapes so I'm looking for a DAT deck. It would have to have a digital coax output since I will be transferring to a PMD 661. What models are most reliable and affordable?

A full-head deck like a Sony R500 will do you good.  It will track DATs made on different portables nicely......much more reliably than a half-head deck.
