garbled noise on jb3 recording

 a couple of days ago i recorded 5th and 6 grade xmass concert here in town.i set up my mics on the lip of the stage Shoeps mk4-vms-v3-jb3. when i returned home and listened throughout the recording the music sounds garbled; not digi noise; the music is there but the best way i can describe the sound is as if tiny drops of water were dropped arbitraraly upon the tape causing the music to become muffled, garbled. i immediately set up my rig at home and triied to recreate the incident. nothing! anyone else have this problem possably can offer up an explaination for why this happened.

if ya dont have the sp rt angle optical cable, buy it :)

truth in Bean's words! i bet it was kinked in your bag, and when you got home somehow you got in un-kinked and it worked fine for the time being

possible but my equipment was not cramped & i will get a rt angle adaper.

your best bet is to buy the SP cable that is right angle toslink > right angle mini

i wouldnt use any other cable!

it is great because the toslink end swivels, so you can make the cable to any direction out of the optical out you want. just an added bonus

I doubt it's your optical cable...what you describe sounds more like something happening on the analog side(muffled)...not digital...

Thanks for the tip.  I just ordered a digimod ua-5   ;D  and will be needing one of these.

exactly besides the way i had everything set up i feel the is no way the connection was compromised.
