dpa 406x question
« on: May 26, 2005, 11:06:09 AM »
the 4060 is a high sensitivity mic
while the 4061 is a low sensitivity mic.

does this mean that the 4060 can handle higher sound levels before distorting while
the 61 doesn't do as well in those situations?ß

FWIW, I put my 4060's to the test at the first Mr. Crowes Garden show earlier this year.  I had them HRTF, and was about 6 rows back from the stage.  I'm not sure since I had my hearing aids turned off, but it had to be ~115-120 db for most of the show.  Ran 4060>Nuemann BS48i-2 Power Supply>Gmini400.  Recording came out really nice with no distortion or clipping at all.  YMMV

As a fellow hearing aid user, I implore you to purchase and use earplugs at concerts.
Out of the game … for now?
