cop out answer
probably all of them.
I've had a bit of a woodie for a mic by this company, Pearl~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~http://www.pearl.se/estart.htmor,....Pearl wishes to introduce its new Tube Microphones - the CT40 and the DT40. The CT40 model uses a fixed cardioid capsule while the DT40 model offers a choice of five different polar patterns making this microphone ideal for many recording applications. These microphones use the classic Pearl dual rectangular capsule, which allows it to achieve a very flat frequency response. The capsule is mounted in silicone, and then supported on a cone to prevent sound reflections. Further, the microphones are powered by a traditionally designed circuit utilizing a Nuvistor vacuum tube and high quality transformer made with an orphous core material. This microphone has been carefully developed to produce the best results in many applications. It is manufactured from the very highest quality components to provide the very best sound experience. To orient the microphone, the sound source must face the PML Logo. The CT 40 and DT 40 are finished in black chromium. The C4020 Power Supply is connected to the microphone using an 8-core XLR cable, and the output from the power supply is a standard three pin XLR. The D4020 for use with the DT40 incorporates a rotary switch to select the five different polar patterns. Both Pearl models are supplied with a flight case, respective power supply, a 10-meter cable, and the 1942 shockmount. I'd add a pair of MK2s
I'd at least try a pair of these
Gefell UM900...LD, tube, 48volt powered...5 patterns...drool
After sampling other schoeps caps for the hell of it, maybe try the Korby Audio KAT 4 system just because it's cool as shit looking. Includes C12, U47,U67, Elam251.
