What the heck is going on with my JB3
« on: September 16, 2006, 05:55:16 PM »
Ok so here is the deal.  A couple of weeks ago, when I got home from moe.down, I found out that my firewire connection on the back of my computer is screwed up.  One of the pins is bent bad.  So I have been using the USB connection to transfer files from my jb3 to my computer.  Well lastnight after the mule show, I was transfering the show and the first set worked fine.  Then I went to transfer the second set, and it tells me it is not accessible.  That has happend to me before, so I unplugged the jb3 from the power cord and the computer and then powered back up and reconnected to the computer.  The little symbol on the display of the jb3 showed that the connection had been made to the computer.  I opened nomad explorer and then went to the music library and it showed me absolutely nothing in the library.  I then disconnected from the computer and verified that on the jb3 the library is completly intact.  So when I went to connect back to the computer the jb3 did not recognize the connection and no little icon came up on the display.  So I disconnected and reconnected several times I power cycled it several times and just couldn't get it to work.  I quit for the night and tried again this morning, and no dice.  The jb3 still is not recognizing the connection.

What can I do to try and solve this problem.  I can not loose the untransfered sets on jb3...HELP!

once the restrat has done its thing, plug the usb>pc and then plug usb>jb3

I've had the same issues with my JB3 and a USB connection.  Mine would lose its connection during a transfer.  The only "stable" fix was useing the firewire.  If nothing else, fix the firewire connection.  New Firewire cards are cheap.  Besides, firewire is a lot faster than USB 1.

Is that something that can be done on a laptop?
