yeah, it looks like you guys used the Roland site with the zip file. On the Edirol site there is an autoextract file where you just click a button and it downloads where you want to send it. For me this option didn't work. I'll get the zip tonite. Thanks.

When you unzip the the v1.20 download there is a file in the folder labeled ".DS_Store", is this file needed by the r-09 also or just the .upd file.

All I did was copy the .upd file onto the r09, then unplug from the PC, switch it off, then switch it back on hlding down rec. Job done.

Yeah,  I used the .zip file from here http://www.rolandus.com/support/downloads_updates/eula.aspx?DownloadId=1817
and used the little 64mb card that came with it to do the upgrade. Smooth as silk.  Even works under Linux (upgrade and regular use).

That's cool, thanks guys. I did copy the .upd file and updated it, it's just that there was an extra file in the folder that said "ds_store" and I didn't know if it was needed or not.
