FLAC???
« on: January 30, 2008, 01:58:10 PM »
I'm using FLAC Frontend and trying to encode wav files to FLAC for the first time...  and I'm just wondering the proper method I should follow to make the files "accurate and proper" for uploading to LMA or BT or such.

I'm trying to FLAC:
Ivan Neville's Dumpstaphunk
2007-07-21

This is the result that I come up with:

dumpstaphunk_2007-07-21_track_04.wav:  WARNING:  skipping unknown sub-chunk 'cue'
dumpstaphunk_2007-07-21_track_04.wav:  WARNING:  skipping unknown sub-chunk 'LIST'

It seems the actual FLAC is fine, it's just that I don't know what these warnings mean.  Also, what do I need to do about the FFP file or text files or any other files?

Thanks!

I think those warnings are just to let you know it is not including the 'cue' and "LIST" metadata that your wave editor added to the .wav file.  Your files should be fine, but when you extract flac>wav, the .wav files will no longer have that metadata.

use the advanced search on ts.com

search: skipping unknown sub-chunk

there are a bunch of threads that cover this. i don't know if link will work but here is the search results:

short answer: it's nothing to worry about, but check the threads for a more detailed explanation.
