I have a tentative deal set up to trade for an Ariston Audio RD11.
Anyone know anything about these?
Below is the description from the potential trader (a non-TS.com member):
"I have an Ariston RD11E with arm (of Japanese origin) - probably an Acos Lustre derivative. It's in good working order and not too bad cosmetically considering it's 30 years old. Quality on these is right up there with the best. In fact it's one of the first to employ a direct DC drive motor. Sounds fabulous and is worthy of much more that the cheap $29 S=Shure cartridge I have in it now. I have completely overhauled its mechanics, stripped, cleaned and rebuilt the motor, new drive belt, Bias weight, cleaned the bearing and re-lubed it.
It sounds fabulous as one would expect - after all it's built to the same standards as the Linn Sondek."
The little bit of info I've found about these makes me think I will be happy with it.
