So my order for two olsen windscreens from markertek eventually got cancelled. not sure why, but... does anyone run these screens? where did you buy them?

yeah, that's what led me to markertek. i couldn't find olsen products on a couple of the other retailer's sites. i guess i'll try giving full compass a call.

What mics do you have?  FWIW, to my eyes the Olsen Audio windscreens don't look terribly robust, though for mics outside the approx. 20mm SD diameter, there are fewer options and the OA ones may be a good choice.

Either the DPA 0896's or the big-ass Shure A81WS will work well with the MC012s.  The DPA's have a smaller form, cost something like $14/per at Sonic Sense, and work pretty well.  The Shure's are significantly bigger, run around $30+ each, and work exceedingly well unless you're in a hurricane.

I have the OA for my mks, I have only tested them outside my house and I couldn't hear the wind at all, but then again it wasn't blowing that hard 5-10 mph max

They do sell the windtech ones at fullcompass.com, the 1200's are like 4.79 or so apiece. I've been thinking about picking up a pair to try out for my mc-012's. Also a little ceaper here http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home;jsessionid=A0YwpJImoC!2124190708?ci=1&sb=ps&pn=1&sq=desc&InitialSearch=yes&O=SearchBar&A=search&Q=*&shs=windtech+1200

Sorry about the long link.

i took the plunge on the dpa's. $11 shipping was a bummer, but i know they are good screens.

rather spend the extra $20 then get the olsens and find out they don't work.

i plan on taping a few bands across the street in patterson park this summer, and it can get *real* windy by the bandstand.
