Oktava MC-012 shockmounts?
« on: June 04, 2004, 10:04:49 PM »
I'm sure many of you bought the oktava's from GC.  As you know, the shock mounts that they offered as an option are horse shit.  Can anyone recommend something more durable and reliable?

http://www.tensimount.com/ - I used these when I had Oktavas and they were great - cheap and useful.

Some pics at the bottom of the thread of Octavas in Schoeps mounts.  A little expensive but very versatile and a low profile.  The clamps that come with the Octavas fit in them and so does the mic.

The bigger DPA ones for SD's .... U0896 i think is the serial #

edit: FWIW these puppies worked great in low-to-heavy moderate wind.  i never had a problem but i never taped in super high winds.  A lot of people like the shure w81 screens as well.....

Chiming in kinda late but i just recently upgraded from mk012's and i was running AT 8410's and DPA's windscreens which i now run w/ my 480's.  The shure windscreens will also work as well as the AT 8415's and Shure A53M's shockmounts.
