Hi does anyone know the pin configuration for the Core HEB 4 pin mini XLR connector?
-
Come on people someone has to know this :) I just need to know what pins are input and what pins are output.

The coresound HEBs are just DPA mics.
I thought coresound used a 5-pin mini-xlr connector? My first pair of DPAs were bought from coresound (never again) and were terminated in mini-xlr. I ended up chopping it off and having the mics re-terminated with microdot connectors.
When I get home from work, I'll have a look to see if I still have the xlr end (possibly not) and will have a look. From memory, only 3 pins were used (common shield, left, right). The cables to the mic bodies are thin coax (signal, shield).
Hope this helps,
stephen

Its a 4 pin and they are using the shell as a ground. I dont have the mics or the battery box. I just want to double check something.
Thanks for taking the time to check it out for me.

In that case, your connector is different to mine.
My mics were wired to be plugged directly into a Mic2496 (which I would advise people to not buy).
I've got the (remains of) the connector in front of me. It is definately a 5-pin mini-xlr. Pins 2, 3 and shield/shell of the mini-xlr are unconnected. Pin 5 is common ground for the mics (the coax shield on the DPA cables). Pins 1 and 4 are signal left/right although I can't say which way round (coax core on the DPA cables).
Sorry if that hasn't been any help...
best regards,

A customer of mine has a 4 pin connector hardwired to her DPA mics. Strange I guess they ran out of 5 pin connectors.

Problem solved.

mine terminates to the 4 pin, too - i think that is standard with the cs batt box...
did you figure it out..? do you care to post the info for the rest of us..?

I am really sorry, I did figure it out and built a preamp for a user here and I did not write the config down. It's very easy to figure out if you have the mics. Ground is the case of the connector pin 1 is mic 1, pin 2 is out 2, pin 3 is mic 2, pin 4 is out 2 Its paired like that.

Is this the pin numbering scheme for the 4-pin mini XLR connector?
