Clamps

Been looking at some of the clamps on the archives.  How do you attach your mics to them?  Do most have a threaded end or do you have to get something else?

Go to micsupply.com and check out the b&h side bar clamp. You can get one for about 20$ with s/h.

Its the one i use and i havent had a problem with it yet.

How far away from clamp are the mics?  Also, kinda confused on how the tbar attaches.  ie.  clamped the a stand it will be oriented one direction(vertical) and on a rail of a balcony it would be horizontal.  Does that make sense?

Saw an AKG K&G in the Rig Pics section.  Searched around and couldn't find any place that sells them.  Anybody know of one?
