Title: Interesting new mic
Post by: colinw on June 18, 2015, 03:08:47 PM
Anyone see this or know anything about it?

Takes stealth to a whole new level.

I wonder if one could be modded a la the "Church Audio M10 mod" to have better SPL handling. Now that could be interesting.

I like that the freq resp chart shows -15dBFS output at 0Hz (DC).  Cool barometer!!  ;D

Clearly these are consumer goods developers putting this together.  Too much "show" not enough "go" IMO but might be nice for some less demanding applications.

Linking 2 widely separated or baffled mics to one phone could be neat, but not for concert taping for all the reasons Jon already mentioned.

Just  bumped into this mic yesterday. The instamic is available now https://instamic.io/ for $149/$189 (pro version) and has been getting good reviews on YouTube.
Unfortunately no one seems to have tested the Pro version (has stereo) to record a loud rock concert. Maybe someone here has ?

Originally I was reading about the Sennheiser "Memory Mic" but it seems to have "issues" and is quite a bit less conspicuous !
