MBHO MBC440 (cardiod) opinions?
« on: April 18, 2011, 04:31:40 PM »
Hi,

These mics are offered for 250 euro. I was wondering if these mics would be nice for backup cardiods for stealthing in a Kangol-hat. Any opinions on whether this would be a good buy? What preamp would be suitable?

thanks.

Good mics...worth every penny.....don't know about stealthing with them tho.....I would get the 440S...they have a switchable -10db pad.

MBHO are, IMHO, top-notch mics at a very affordable price.

They sell direct so there is no long distribution chain with every link taking a profit - so you get the quality but don't pay the price you would normally have to for such a mic.

thanks.

Using them as backups (for what?) won't do them justice.
Their size (~20cm I think) could be a problem for stealth use.

Either way, 250 is a steal, so get them!
