First and foremost the 248 is a preamp only. So you may want to ask the question a little different. V3 pre vs. m248.
As far as the a/d section in the ACM V3 vs. the 722 you have No contest. The ACM V3 a/d section runs circles around the 722 a/d.
Of the differences between the 248 and V3 pres there are tons of threads here with people's opinions. Alot also depends on what mics you're using.

Thank you. I didn't make it clear that I would like to still use the 722 A/D.

My understanding is that the ACM Doug does to the V3 only affects the A/D stage of the unit.
If you are going to use the 722s A/D a stock V3 should be just as affective.
