Title: would running a 14v unit on 14.4v power be a bad idea..?

i dont want to fry my unit, which is spec'd @ 14v input, but the battery i have outputs 14.4v. i was hoping the two of them would play nicely with eachother, assuming i get the right cables @ rat shack.

With 14 volt nominal input requirement, running at least up to 15 volts (and likely even 18 volts) should not pose a problem of any kind.
