Lenmar Battery and UA5
« on: April 16, 2007, 12:33:27 PM »
For the Lenmar U9 NoMem Portable DVD Battery seen here...:
http://www.amazon.com/DVD-U9-Lithium-Battery-Portable-Players/dp/B000271MV2

Can you use the cable that comes with it in conjunction with the UA-5, or do you have to by an adaptaplug with the B and M tips and reverse the polarity?

Thanks in advance.

Adam, Here's a better deal on it.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?A=details&Q=&is=REG&O=productlist&sku=375503

Yes the cable that comes with it will work. Just buy the adaptaplug "m" tip from rat shack. Put the tip on backwards and your good to go.

I saw a Lenmar at Frys the other day for $90.  I haven't had great luck myself with Lenmar products.  So I ordered the Initial from bhphotovideo (probably the same battery.)  I understand from other threads that a RatShack adapter will fit onto the cable supplied by Initial.  Mine should be arriving tomorrow along with some more new toys.

I have this battery and the stock cable will not work with your UA-5 you need to go the adaptaplug route or cut the cable it comes with and swap the wires.

This looks like the successor to the one linked at the top of this thread. Can anyone confirm that it works with the UA5, and exactly how long it lasts with the UA5 as well ??? :)

I can't comment on UA5 use, but I recently got a couple of these at RadioShack for 1/2 that price.

But its not compatible w/ those adaptaplugs from RS. I already have an Adaptaplug "M" which fits the UA5 perfectly, so I need a cable thats compatible with it ;)

And the capacity of the battery[mah] is less than the one I linked :) Either way, thanks for the info bro :)

Ha! No plans in that regard, but you're first on the list. About the battery, it's weird. Both our links go to the same part number (DVDU923) but they do seem to have different specs. For giggles I Googled it, and found even more spec differences between vendors!

let us know if it works.  i'm assuming the tips are the same on the other dvd batteries, so it must work using the same cable as the UA-5 and R-44, right?
